Las Vegas Square & Round Dancers
President's Message
Hi Everyone! I hope you had a great summer. I know I am looking forward to some cooler temperatures and the beautiful fall weather. I am also looking forward to all our clubs starting new dancer classes in September. So, don’t forget to “brag” a little to everyone you meet. Brag about all the fun you have square dancing; brag about all the great health benefits attributed to square dancing; brag about all the wonderful people you meet square dancing. You are the best and most effective advertising we have!

Once again, this year we have postcards with the new dancer class information on them. These are available for you to take with you wherever you go. Leave them at the grocery store, the coffee shop, the doctor’s office. Give them to anyone and everyone you meet.
I would like to thank all the square dancers that made the drive to Pahrump the first weekend of August. You helped make the Desert Squares dance a big success again this year. Andy Allemao did a wonderful job calling. Thank you Andy for a fun night of dancing!

There is a lot of dancing scheduled for the fall so be sure to check the website calendar or the calendar in the Bulletin.

Looking forward to the last quarter of the year there is a lot of business, classes and dancing to come. The business, classes and dancing require volunteers from the respective Club and Association members to make it happen. Volunteering for your Club or Association is like putting gas in your car. If you don’t put gas in your car you won’t go anywhere. There is a lot of work behind the scenes that make the classes and dances a success. So please volunteer your time and talents to help make your Club and Association successful. Many hands make for light work!

One last item, please save the date: September 29, 2018. The Las Vegas Square and Round Dancers Association is hosting a Saturday night dance featuring Chuck Veldhuizen from Sioux City, Iowa calling, and Deb Vogt cueing. I am sure this will be a fun evening of dancing.

I would like to encourage all the area dancers to attend our Board meetings. We are here for you, the dancers. The more participation we have, the more successful we will be!
I hope to see every one of you on the dance floor very soon! Thank you again for all your support and encouragement.
